The JDocs Framework is based on the College's ten core competencies, and describes the many tasks, skills and behaviours expected of the prevocational doctor during the early prevocational years (PGY1–PGY3+).

All competencies are of equal importance and describe the expected key attributes of a prevocational doctor in becoming:

  • a safe, competent clinician
  • a professional in the workplace
  • a collaborative member of a team.

A number of key clinical tasks that describe the skills and knowledge expected at defined PGY levels, for each competency, have been developed to support work-based feedback/assessment.
